"Ice Cream Man," A Modern Moron Movie Review

"Ice Cream Man" hit the mainstream movie media on Friday, and it's a gonzo gore fest of elementary school aged children brutally killing adults.

The movies trailer is arguably the most gruesome preview ever. The conflict begins when pre-teen children consume ice cream at a little league baseball game from a baleful ice cream man who has sold his soul to perhaps the highest of evils powers. Technically dead, the Ice Cream Man has been resurrected by a nefarious necromancer. 

Pre-teens who consume the ice cream become robotic like followers of the Ice Cream Man and set out to kill all the adults, and are much too successful at it. A few pre-teens who didn't eat the ice cream find themselves trapped in their small town and strive to escape with the help of one of the children's sister, Lizzie and her ex boyfriend who are seniors in high school. 

Anyone disinterested in graphic murders in cinema should skip this flick for sure. Perhaps the the theme of "Ice Cream Man" is how desensitized we are, including myself to gratudious violence on the screen.   

 

Bravo to Sarah Abbott, the actress who plays Lizzie. When she maneuvers herself out of bed and into the bathroom to make herself vomit up the ice cream she ate the day before without the use of her paralyzed arms was indeed impressive, she's athletic for sure and she regained the use of her arms. 

Three and a half stars easy for the August 8 release of "The Ice Cream Man," it's a 'chilling' tale and watch out for children!
