"Blackkklansman," A Modern Moron Movie Review

In Lieu of black history month, here's a review of this cool flick, the "Blackkklansman."

This movie comedically and intellectually illustrates the subtle differences between black and white minds, and there are differences, soul brothers and sisters! In the 1980s I lived in Tennessee and the Kentucky state line for four years during my Army tenue, and I was engulfed in both white and black culture.

In the 1980s, the N-word was heard daily by me for nearly a half decade, and the vast majority of the time it was used in jest by the black people, or brother's as they were most often called by each other and us white boys, or in my case, the "Crazy White Boy," as many of the brothers called me, and it fit, I was doing a lot of LSD then.

For the most part, black guys didn't laugh under the influence of LSD, and us white guys laughed so much, our stomachs hurt. Subtle differences.

This movie proves we can all coexist happily, while also expressing the harsh realities of unwarranted hatred for others based on insane Christian and political rhetoric.

"Blackkklansman" is the true tale of the real-life black police officer, Ron Stallworth who was the first African American cop at his Colorado police branch in the early 1970s. Officer Stallworth poised as a white man over the phone to KKK members. Stallworth was so convincing over the phone, the then Grand Wizard and National Director of the KKK, David Duke made him an official member of the KKK.

Another white police officer on the Colorado force was used to meet with KKK members. Officer Stallworth exposed David Duke for the pathic racist he truly is, and nobody seems to care. Why this insane organization is allowed to continue to exist and still have members in congress and other forms of government is crazy to me.

This movie is dedicated to Heather Heyer, the woman who was run over and killed by white supremist in Charlotteville, Virginia on Aug., 12, 2017, simply because she wasn't a racist, and our then President, the Racist in Chief, Donald J. Trump said these KKK killers were fine people.

After Heyer was brutally murdered by white supremist, David Duke said this is the first step in what Donald Trump alluded to early in his campaign. It's the first step in taking America back, Duke said.

Rest in Power, Heather Heyer

Mind Journey

To flee the hallowed halls of hatred and trek to lands dominated by love and laughter. To dwell in a world with no wars or poverty, to live where there's nothing but beautiful ladies singing love songs.                                                                                                             Mark Izzy Schurr                                                  Picture Schurr Shot in Trinidad, 2021 & the last sentence is from the early 1930s movie, "The Depot," with Joan Blondell & Guy Kibbee as a homeless drunk who said the awesome line about beautiful gals singing love songs.

Government IX

Custodians of chaos, their the vurluent vipers who instill fear and hatred to the   weak minds of their armies and citizens. How many generations will continue to slay the pawns of war as opposed to killing their kings. Idle words of peace and prosperity are shrouded in the addictions of savage emotions. Drones fly, children die. Smart bombs and blind puppets called presidents, Prime Ministers and dictators fuel my frustration of humanity. End the orange cult and jail Coupe A Lini already!

Write Minded

The tombs of dead laughter admisdt the unwelcoming confines of California darken my dim memories of shared laughter. My soul yearns for the sanctuary of sanity along the ocean shores.                                                            Mark Izzy Schurr                                          Picture was Schurr Shot in Trinidad, Calif., in 2021.

Art of Nature

The sanctuary of satisfaction is a journey I have yet to comprehend. While trekking the eternal winds upon our dimensions, the nectar of my nemesis has been conquered. No longer following the dictates of society, save my own. Teetering on the edge of the unknown as seraphic minds absorb the stabbing sensation of wisdom.

Composure

An eerie entity to some, or perhaps perceived as an absolute lunatic to others, yet regardless of those projecting unfriendliness, I still bask in the brilliance spawned from those projecting their light of positivity and laughter which shrouds the void from within.

Rage, Love, & the Messiah Syndrome

Almost overnight, a new religion is spawned, and sanity gives way to savagery as the voices of reason are drowned in the deafening roar of violence. (Stan Lee / Keith Pollard)

In 2012s novella, "Parable," the Silver Surfer is perceived as the evil alien to Earthlings and his cosmic creator, the devourer of world's Galactus sets out to destroy our blessed planet. Galactus could pulverize the entire planet with a mere thought, but his treaty with the Silver Surfer prohibits him from doing so.

Galactus is literally a giant with colossal powers and feasting upon entire planets is how he maintains his god-like powers. From the very beginning of "Parable," Galactus descends upon the Earth and presents himself as a god, and when a power hunger evangelist claims to have summoned him to Earth, the people of our planet cling to him like Trump supporters absorb lies.

As a preacher of Galactus, I say he is the way and the wonder. Heed his prophet, I sing his true glory.

"I come to set you free from guilt. If you would be saved, do what you will, take what you will. There is no sin. Pleasure is all," so speait Galactus. (Lee / Pollard)

Looting, pillaging and plunder become the new order of mayhem on earth as people blindly follow their new god.

"Who can know when reality ends and legend begins? Do we not see with our hearts and minds as well as our eyes? Galactus plays God, having pledged not to slay Earth by force, but by guile," the Silver Surfer said.

To no surprise, the Silver Surfer, nor the Earth is destroyed, but via Chrome Dome's wits, and not extreme cosmic violence, the planet and the people are saved. With that being said, "Parable" has many intriguing elements for a fascinating story, complete with lust and romance as cosmic entities battle each other.

"I shall never cease searching for an oasis of sanity in this desert of madness men call Earth," the Silver Surfer said.

After the Sky Rider of the space ways thwarts Galactus, he is forced to confront the evil Mrrungo-Mu who calls himself the Enslaver. He's enslaved entire planets and when he comes for our planet, Chrome Dome is pitted with a rage within his soul I've never read before.

The Enslaver is saved from being slain by the Silver Surfer from the woman who loves him.

Love is indeed the power supreme in "Parable," and the Surf man is reunited with his beloved Shalla-Bal, and from the ashes of carnage and decay, hope and wellness rise anew.

"Parable" is my second five-star review because of the sagacious writing by Stan Lee and Keith Pollard and the awesome artwork by Josef Rubinstein, Jose Marzan and Chris Ivy.

Another Modern Moron Movie Review

It's no fun when the rabbit has the gun, and 2001s "Training Day" illustrates the fine line which separates the cop from the criminal.

Rookie narcotic officer, Jake Hoyt, (Ethan Hawke) is being street trained by senior officer Alonzo Harris, sagaciously portrayed by Denzel Washington. Washington takes $1 million in cash from a $4 million drug bust and splits the money five ways with Hoyt and three other cops.

The storyline is straight forward gangster life on the mean streets of a major American city. Hoyt, (Hawke) quickly questions his methods for trying to be promoted to detective, and "Training Day" delivers its conflicts and resolutions with a powerful punch.

Denzel Washington as Alonzo Harris tossing over a quarter of a million dollars in cash to one of his crooked comrades.

$4 million in cash in an old suitcase.

Rappers Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were awesome in this movie.

"It smells like bacon up in this mother fucker," Snoop Dogg said to some cops posing as causal drug buyers.

"Training Day" delivers the goods to the mind and this four-star flick is officially nine months away from being a true movie classic.
