Nature 2112

The majestic mystic of the deep and soft sands of eternity seep into the soul, nurture the heart and balance the brain. No longer bound to popular dreams and societies greed's. I've finally embraced natures seeds. Alone I dream, quietly I fade from societies charade.
If I'm not laughing or smiling, I'm swirling in my imagination, no matter the events of any given day, with every setting sun I close my eyes alone and hope someday my ashes will be cast into the moving waters of any beautiful ocean...

Children 2112

Children 2112

Friendly faces, and warm embraces, I've seen the art of innocence and have dwelled in the dreams of happy children. Winds of wisdom whisk across the blissful sky's amidst the laughing little one's eyes, their untarnished hearts covet the keys to all that is pure. Fabulously fierce and brutally honest, their extremely young souls keep hope eternal.

The novel "Court Trouble," a marvelous murder mystery, or a miserable mystery?

"Court Trouble" is a play on words, court being a tennis court where the murder of Manny Grimes occurs.

Grimes is bludgeoned to death on one of the tennis courts at the North Boulder Recreation Center. Right from the get go, how can someone, just one person beat someone to death with a tennis racket?
Novelist Mike Befeler tries to justified this in a non comedic way and this book fails miserably.

The only good thing about this book was that is was free to read, thanks to the coddingtown library. Released to the general public on July 20, "Court Trouble" was troublesome to read to say the least.

The books like the previous one I reviewed lacked any interest for the reader, and for a murder mystery, it was more of a mystery as to why such a boring story was being written. A brain damaged monkey on acid with a rubbery twig in the wet sand could have written a more interesting story.

The main character Mark Yeager was good friends with the murdered Grimes, and even though he's just and entrepreneur with absolutely no police or detective experience, he sets out to question witnesses and search houses, which the cops don't object too, a major red flag for a story that is a drama and not a comedy.

Yeager almost gets himself and his wife killed with his snooping around and dangerous questions to the nefarious folks. Even when Yeager is tied at the hands and feet with duck tape and thrown into an ice covered lake, I knew he'd live and solve the mystery, another red flag, extreme predictability.

There are four main suspects, and four very boring characters who spark as much interest as a documentary about toilet tissue holders.

"Court Trouble" contained all the main ingredients for an adult thriller, illegal gambling, gun trafficking, adultery, murder and mystery, but the formula was nothing more than a messy mix of miserable character development and lackluster story telling. Zero stars for this book, it was simply a pathetic parade of nonsense and boredom.

New Suspense Novel "Red Right Hand" Intense Or Senseless?

"Red Right Hand" released on Sept., 13, is the second book featuring the trained assassin Michael Hendricks.

Is the the novel "Red Right Hand" an intense thriller with colorful characters, rich with humor who wittingly thwart evil deeds, or is it a barrage of boring people fighting government corruption and Middle Eastern terrorism?

I didn't read the first book featuring the main character Michael Hendricks, "The Killing Kind." If "The Killing Kind" is half as bad as "Red Right Hand," I'm extremely confessed as to why a second book was even written.

The F-word was used way too much in this book, maybe third graders love this word used for absolutely no reason, but the profanity was unnecessary and pointless, unless the author was catering to the extremely unenlightening with no imagination.

The story kicks gets going right away when a tug boat driven by TIC, True Islamic Caliphate terrorist ram San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge doesn't even collapse, and the injuries and casualties are extremely minimal. Right of the bat, no intensity and the lack of character development throughout the entire book left the reader with the who cares what happens next attitude.

The female side kick Cameron who is meant to be charming and funny is as enlightening and entertaining as jet black charcoals on the oven floor. Not a single moment went by when I was concerned for the life of any of the characters and when Cameron saved Hendricks life, it was a so, the story continues, oh shucks kind of deal.

I surprised myself by reading the entire book, one and half stars for this hapless novel. The only reason it gets this high of a rating from me is because Holm, the author does acknowledge that all world leaders create war solely for money. Share holders in all parts of the world are profiting from war, an endless sad reality.

Two Suspense Movies, Double Duds Or Terrific Two?

"Nerve" explores the seldom mentioned, but real world of the 'dark web'  that lurks across the universe and is eager to pounce on the too daring or curious minds.

Nerve is a selfie web game that allows its participants to be watchers or players. The players are given various dares from kissing a complete stranger to laying flat on a railroad track while an on coming train approaches. One guess what the watchers do. The players must video themselves or have some else recording while doing their devious dares, and are also timed. If the dare is completed within the time limit, anywhere from a $100.00 to several thousand dollars is deposited into the players bank account.

Nerve hit the big screen in July, and DVD on October 25, it stars the young actors Emma Roberts and Dave Franco.

Vee Delmonico (Roberts), a high school senior succumbs to peer pressure and becomes a player for the wacky and dangerous website Nerve. While playing the game she meets her love interest Ian, (Franco) who is also a player in the dark game. Together Ian and Vee participate in various dares such as potential shop lifting and riding a motor cycle blind folded.

When the two decide the dares are too much, it's too late to simply walk away from the game. Once the two are caught in the vortex of the Nerve, they could be killed or their friends or various family members could be murdered if they quit playing the game. With the aide of Vee's friends, the two find one way to potentially keep their money, and save their loved ones as well as themselves, or does everyone die?

Three stars for the movie "Nerve," it could have been even more intense, but I really did enjoy it, well worth a watch.

"Lights Out," also released on DVD October 25 is not a supernatural edge of your seat teeth grinder, but it was still psychologically creepy, and I flinched a couple of times in my seat.

Actress Maria Bello portrays the mother of Rebecca (Teresa Palmer) and Martin (Gabriel Bateman). Bello is a single mom living with her son Martin and a supernatural entity that murders. Rebecca fearing for her little brother, takes him away from her mom and the tension mounts for all three.
The shadowy female figure that roams around in the dark and kills, seems to have positive ties to Bello.

The dark entity hates the light so much, that it is completely harmless during the day and even a working flash light will keep its potential victims safe, even in the prime of night, yet this devious entity has it's way of cutting off the electricity.

Is Bello completely out of her mind and one who fuels this baleful being into its killing sprees? Rebecca, her boyfriend and her little brother are cast into a horrifying and deadly realm of the supernatural, and together they are forced to combat the chaos of a cryptic world.

"Lights Out" is extremely well acted and though it could have been a lot more mind chilling, I still give it three stars. It's a good flick to watch on Halloween.

Tears For The Three, Emotional Lesions Attack At Random...

Wish they were here; my parents and Ali Bear, three unique souls currently soaring on the wings of wisdom into the infinite realms of space and time.

Never again will I share a laugh or bask in their presence, this very moment in time is cold, dark and lonely, yet the pleasant memories of them continue to pick me up and encourage me to embrace each new sun rise and sunset.                                                                                          Izzy Schurr

Last Year's Grisham Novel Reviewed

Released October of last year, John Grisham's book "Rogue Lawyer" has more characters and story-lines then a politician has lies, does the story work?

Lawyer Sebastian Rudd is a defense attorney who takes cases other lawyers shy away from. In this novel he defends an accused satanist of viciously killing and raping two very young girls, a man shooting at a cops, an alleged kidnapper who may be involved in the killing, raping and sex trafficking of a young woman, a cage fighter who beats a referee to death and a known porn and drug trafficking gangster, George Scanlon, aka Link Scanlon. George is more frequently known as Link because of all the crimes he is linked to.

Some of his clients are guilty of the crimes they are accused of and some of them are innocent, and Rudd does not win every case, but more often then not, he is the victor in court which puts his elementary school age son in danger as well as himself.

Rudd and his Partner, also named Partner work out of Rudd's customized bullet proof van, complete with a full bar and office. Cops and many other citizens of the world often try and kill Rudd for defending his questionable clientele. Rudd and Partner are proud to still be alive from all the times various people have tried to kill both of them.

"We're proud to still be standing or ducking," Rudd has been quoted as saying.

One of the many side story's in this novel is about a married couple in their 70s who fall victim to the 'dark web,' web sites Google and Yahoo will not harbor. The couples 19-year-old neighbor uses their web link to sell massive amounts of drugs on line, primarily ecstasy. At 3 a.m. one morning, an eight man SWAT team breaks down the elderly couples door, kills both of their aging non threatening dogs and the mans wife, the aging man shoots a cop in the neck and is now facing 20 years to life for almost killing a cop.

"Rogue Lawyer" is three and a half star read, primarily because it seizes the attention of the reader and is definitely not predicable. The novel could have been a four or perhaps a five star read, but their was simply too many characters and sub plots.

Double Dose Of Science Books

"George's Secret Key to The Universe," a children's book written by Stephen Hawking and his daughter Lucy is easily a four star read, both entertaining for the young and old.

Just over nine years ago this month, in 2007, this book ignited imaginations of all ages to heighten the senses of all minds who take the time to read this awesome novel.

The focal character George is a young boy whose pet pig wonders into the house of his next door neighbor's Annie and her father Eric's house. Annie meets George while giving his pig some grape soda, and soon her and George ride the wings of wisdom together while soaring into outer space with the aide of her father Eric's super intelligent computer Cosmos.

Eric does his best to keep his super computer Cosmos a secret to the rest of the world, because if the wrong people learn the secrets of the universe, they could and most likely would use their knowledge for their own selfish goals and in the end, no one would benefit from knowing about our world of existence.

The villain is this story, a twisted  grumpy older fellow who finds out about Eric's computer wants to steal it and wreak havoc upon the universe. Graham Reeper is his name, an incredible name for a character you love to hate. While dealing with Mr. Reeper, Annie and George also have to cope with the school bullies as they learn about the universe.

"George's Secret Key to The Universe" is much more than a story about the friendship of Annie and George, it's also a cool collection of facts about our solar system. I learned for example that the largest volcano in our galaxy is on Mars, Olympus Mons which is more than 400 miles wide and 15 miles high. In comparison, the largest volcano on Earth is in Hawaii, Mauna Loa is 10.5 miles high from the bottom of the ocean, more then 2.5 miles high off land. While visiting Hawaii, the locals said in their cool accent, if Mauna Loa goes (erupts) we go!

I also learned from reading this book that scientists find Black Holes because their gravitational pull forces many stars into their obit, Black Holes are not visible.

Black Holes may also lead to other universe's and possibly other life forms similar if not exact to human DNA, but what goes in a Black Hole, has never come back. Even the greatest minds cannot know what, if anything is beyond the Black Holes in the universe.

Another one the many neat facts I learned about the cosmos of our solar system is that Andromeda is the only galaxy moving toward ours, Andromeda is our neighboring galaxy.

Billions of years ago, way before Earth and the rest of the planets, clouds of gas and dusts wandered in outer space, both were spread out and scattered, it was gravity that pulled the two together to become denser and denser. In the simplest terms, it was gravity that started all life.

"George's Secret Key to The Universe" brilliantly combines a child's curiosity with the intelligence of  great scientific mind.

Andromeda, our neighboring galaxy.

"The Universe In A Nutshell."

If your not a big fan of Stephen Hawking, this book is probably a one and a half star read for you, for us Hawking fans, it's a three and a half star read.

2001, Stephen Hawking

"The Universe In A Nutshell", released in November of 2001 is geared for high end scientific minds, but even though most of the facts and illustrations were much too complicated to understand, the parts that were understandable not only pointed out some intriguing facts, but sparked my imagination into what I personally think about the universe.

"The Universe In A Nutshell" is obviously about science, but does not rule out God. From reading this book and factoring in my own thoughts about the universe and how the Earth and humans were created, I've come to one conclusion; no matter what you believe, there is a beginning somewhere.

Once upon a time, there was no Earth, stars, other planets or humans, so either God, Gods or science started everything; in the beginning was a void of darkness...

Whether or not you believe in God or accept science, this book is a magnificent mind journey into the many realms of fact and fantasy.

Some expert mathematicians and scientist do not believe time travel is possible, while other great minds see time travel as a distinct possibility. If time travel is possible, humans would have to be able to find wormholes in outer space.

Wormholes in outer space, if they do exist are complex tubes in space, and if humans could travel at the speed of light (186,000 mph) into a wormhole they could journey off somewhere into the future and then comeback before they even left!

According to this book, DNA is the basis for all life on Earth which emerged 3.5 billion years ago. From reading Hawking's 2010 book "The Grand Design," Homo sapiens, the current race of  humans have been around for more than 93,000 years. The Bible states that God created the Earth, and the people in six days, science states it took well over three billion years for our creation, and so the beliefs and arguments for God or science fester in the minds of many until the end of time.

Computer image of DNA molecules

Indeed, exploring ones thoughts and feelings as to how humans arrived, via science or God, delving too deep into the hows and why we're here may set the wheels in motion to insanity or on a path of perfect serenity and peace of mind.

Bleacher Babble, A Modern Moron Glimpse of The 112 World Series

Baseball is the most unique sports in America because it's the only sport in which the defense has the ball.

No matter which of the two MLB teams wins this years World Series, it will be the first championship for either team in at least 68 years.  http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/25/sports/baseball/world-series-preview-chicago-cubs-cleveland-indians.html?_r=0

The Indians last won the World Series in 1948 when the team ousted the then Boston Braves four games to two to harness the championship. This years Cubs had the best record in baseball with a 103 regular season wins. The Cubs have never played a night game or one on TV in the World Series.
Game one tonight is set for an extra inning 1-0 final score, flip a coin who wins. Both starting pitchers tonight have a combined ERA of 1.84.

This years World Series may go seven games, but either way, it should be a great series, and awesome reality TV well worth watching. If you have $50,000 or more burning a hole in your wallet, box seats to any game can be acquired on StubHub.

"Independence Day Resurgence," a 20-Year-Old Sequel Worthy of Its Predecessor?

A ridiculous story line and futile attempt at humor coupled with extreme predictability prompted the question, why make such a horrible movie?

In 1976, when the first "Star Wars" movie set the pace for film making special effects, it was an extremely cool art form in motion pictures, but more then four decades later, a movie with a stupid story line, boring acting and average special effects set the pace for one of the worst movies ever made.

Twenty years ago, the aliens that almost wiped out the human race were all but destroyed, and now the mother ship is back and ready for vengeance. If for a second, you think the aliens might win, your blind to this mundane movie. Indeed, I've seen better film on teeth.

Zero stars for this lame flick. The lack luster attempt at humor may have been enjoyable to the average 3-year-old, but the reality was, the poor jokes were as entertaining as dead flies in a dumpster.

To make matters worse, it's set up for a third movie which I can already say, I'll walk out on the third movie on an airplane without a parachute.

If your sense of humor is non existent and you know the outcome of the movie an hour before it end's and still enjoy special effects that have been around for decades, this is the flick for you, but if you prefer a solid plot and meaningful dialogue, "Independence Day Resurgence" is not for you. The DVD makes for a great mini frisbee, the only good thing about this movie.

Weary Of the Ocean Waters, Just How Dangerous Are Sharks?

In the days of old, when only the rich possessed cellar phones and had the web available to them in their homes, novelist Peter Benchley's book "Jaws" was cast upon the big screen in 1976, and to this day, thrust fear to many ocean swimmers.

For those souls who have never seen the hit movie "Jaws," it's about a great white shark that patrols a popular beach area on the east coast, and devours as many swimmers as it possibly can.
Right off the bat, the movie is a myth, sharks do not hunt humans.

While reading "The Untold Truth About Sharks," an article I read in "iD, Ideas & Discoveries"  magazine, I learned that when sharks attack their various prey, mostly sea lions, they sprint in the water at speeds of up to 25 mph just before they clamp their jagged teeth into their prey.

Even when I was in elementary school, I learned that sharks are not man eaters, their man biters, they do not like the taste of man and the vast majority of the time only bite once, if at all. Obviously a bite by the likes of a great white shark which can be as large as 15 feet can prove most deadly.

The research presented in "The Untold Truth About Sharks" stated that sharks are curious about humans in the water. The researched proved that when sharks do spot humans swimming in the seas, they don't swoop in at their 25 mph speeds and bite. Sharks either leave humans alone, which is the majority of the time, and when they do bite those few unfortunates, it's out of curiosity as to the taste of people and not to hunt. When sharks to get near people, they approach with leisure or undramatic behavior claims R. Aidan Martin, former director of Canada's ReefQuest Centre for Shark Research.

Obviously the safest way not to get bit by a shark is to stay out of the ocean waters, but if you do swim in the ocean, avoid going in the water with large cuts and don't swim near an active fishing boat, because their is a lot of bait in the waters attracting sharks.

I also learned from reading this article, that sharks do have a gentle, even dog like attitude toward humans. Marine biologist Ocean Ramsey who I think is much too daring in the waters of the deep blue, often swims uncaged with sharks, currently she's done this with 32 different sharks species, including holding the fin of a 13 foot great white shark. Ramsey pointed out that when she released her grip on the caudal fin of the great white, the shark was careful not to slap her as she let go.

The fact is, humans are much more dangerous to sharks then they are us. "The Untold Truth About Sharks" states that more than 273,900 are killed everyday by people, that's around 100 million sharks killed by people each year.  In contrast, 10 to 12 humans are killed each year by shark attacks. Shark fins can net fishermen as much as $50,000 per fin in the far eastern regions of the planet. Shark meat is much less, about 85 cents per pound, which is why a lot of fishermen cut off the fin of sharks and throw them back into the sea where the shark suffers a slow and painful death.

"We're built to fear the unknown, when you go out in the water, there's this idea that your incredibly vulnerable," James Hambrick, psychologist at Columbia University said.

Us Human's, We Are Still Infants In the Mind, Drones Fly, Civilians Die

Our current presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are both horrible choices for president, and it's one of the many reasons the world is at constant war.

Neither Clinton or Trump talk about eliminating the U.S. drone program, and in fact promote it. Both lame candidates are greedy just like the rest of the soulless one percent who rule the Earth.

The new era of war is upon us, thanks largely in part to the might makes right policy the U.S. and many other rich nations adhere to. War is nothing like the olden days of World War I and World War II, and the infinite number of earlier wars when each nation and its troops had uniforms.

Today's wars are are everywhere. Simply being a white American in any public place may be a dangerous place to be at any giving time these days. Just one extreme Muslim fundamentalist goes crazy about the countless U.S. drone strikes that frequently kill Middle Eastern civilians can trigger deadly reactions for many whites in a public place, such as what happened in San Bernardino and the U.S. marine base this year.

On Wednesday a U.S. drone strike killed 15 Afghan civilians, and this is just what is documented. U.S. drones are killing innocent Middle Easterners daily I'm willing to bet, and we (USA people) wonder why other country's hate us. Yes, I'm glad to be a U.S. citizen, but the drone program has got to stop completely.

Too many people still think war is about freedom and rights when it's nothing more then about the insanely greedy and their selfish wants and desires.

If the world had wisdom, one hundred percent of all soldiers in every single nation would refuse to go to battle and die for its soulless leaders. President Barack Obama has no problem sending other peoples children to war while his two daughters are rich and safe in the U.S. Wake up people! The political area is an evil place, and war is solely about money.

Yes, I'm part of the problem, because I still drive an oil and gasoline fueled vehicle when I should be driving transportation that is solar or electrical powered, it's a nightmare, and I'm ashamed of myself, but how much can one person do when no one else is on board with your wisdom?

Yes, I get it, the Middle East is a complete mess, In Yemen girls as young as 8-years-old are forced into marriage and often raped to death. In 2010 A 12-year-old Yemeni bride died of internal bleeding following intercourse three days after she was married off to a man at least twice her age. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/04/09/yemen.child.bride.death/
In 2013, also in Yemen, Rawan, an 8-year-old girl was raped to death by a 40 year-old man, her forced husband. http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/15/world/meast/yemen-child-bride/

As I was researching this horrid subject in the Middle East, I found that forced marriages to old men, and these very young girls still in grade school in Yemen is an everyday practice. Why is there no war against these sadistic acts toward children? Money, there is simply no profit in  helping people. World leaders only spend money to make money, they have no desire or will to make the world a better place, it's that simple, everything is about the almighty dollar and the heartless one percent are thriving on us paupers.

If all the poor refused to go to war,  banded together and refused to pay insane prices for mortgages, rent and everything else, the world would be a better place. Think about it, what if one hundred percent of all vehicle drivers, including myself stopped driving for a week, a year, what a shock and panic we'd create for the oil guru's of the world.

What if one hundred percent of renters stopped paying rent and demanded way cheaper rent? United we stand, divided we fall is a great word combination, but us poor don't get it, after all, how much can one person do?
